Wool: From Sheep to Clothing
novembro 16 2025 – YangB
Wool is a natural, sustainable material ideal for clothing. The process starts with shearing—gently removing wool from sheep, a harmless practice that happens annually. Next, the raw wool is cleaned to remove dirt and grease, then carded to align the fibers into soft strands. These strands are spun into yarn, which can be dyed in various colors or used naturally.
The yarn is then woven or knitted into fabric. Wool’s unique properties—breathability, warmth, and moisture-wicking—make the fabric comfortable in both cold and mild weather. Finally, the fabric is cut and sewn into garments like sweaters, coats, and scarves. Wool clothing is durable, biodegradable, and gets softer with each wash, blending practicality with eco-friendliness.
